Captain John James Woodbury House, 5x7", oil on panel.Since Jen and I moved to Gloucester, we've kind of suspected that this was a vacation home or abandoned or something. We would never see any lights on and no one was ever in the yard. Well, today, as I was painting the house, the owner, Edmond, came over to see what I was doing. He was tickled that his house was being "immortalized by art" and we had a nice chat about the neighborhood and why I made this or that decision in the painting. Hmm, I just realized that I intended to put the bootscrapers that are anchored in the front step into the painting, but after my talk with Edmond, I forgot. Oops.
